First camping trip!

This last weekend we decided to go camping!!  It was our first trip of the year and we had so much fun!!  The kids are already asking to go again.  I have a feeling that we will be going out a ton this summer!!

We left on Friday when Trav got home from work and we went up toward Cascade.  Holy cow it is so pretty up that way!!  First we went and looked at campgrounds by lake up there but they were packed and we dont like camping around tons of people so we kept driving up and we found an amazing spot to camp that was so pretty, had a creek running though it, and nobody around.  Perfect!  It was pretty late when we got up there so we just set up camp and went to bed.

The kids slept great and we woke up and after breakfast we decided to go fishing.  We only caught one but the kids had a lot of fun!!!  We fished for a few hours then the kids were getting super tired so we decided to take a drive to explore.  It was so nice and pretty up there!!  We went up to McCall and my dad told us of this awesome road to take and he warned us we might not be able to go all the way because of the snow but we wanted to try it and once we got to the top there was way to much snow to cross the top so we had to turn around and come back down, but we stopped and played in the snow for a while first :)  We ended up stopping and building a fire and cooked hot dogs for dinner (jacie got to choose dinner) then went on a couple little walks along the river then headed back to camp.  

Pais was so tired so we got her to bed and the older two stayed up and we made cake in an orange in the fire, made smores, sang songs and told stories.  It was such a fun fun night.  The kids didnt sleep as well that night and about 4 in the morning Pais woke up because she needed a diaper change and was cold so I put her in our sleeping bags, about 5 Jacie woke up and wanted in (Boe started out the night in our sleeping bags) so by morning all 5 of us were in 2 sleeping bags.  It was sure cozy :)  haha

We were going to drive back Sunday morning (the only nice thing about 2:00 church is we can do things like that) and we found another road that looked like it would be a fun drive and maybe just a little longer (we were about 3 hours from home already) so we decided to take it and we soon discovered it was a lot longer and lots of really bumpy, slow driving dirt roads.  It took us 2 hours longer to get home that way!!  We were a little late to church but we made it so we were proud of ourselves :)

It was such a fun, relaxing (as relaxing as camping with three kids and a puppy can be), pretty weekend and we cant wait to go again!!  Here are lots of pics of our weekend!
